I think Saimin says Mac Salad is amazing! Way better than L&L. I love ordering their Mochiko chicken plate. I usually order for take out or delivery with door dash.
I have eaten in before and they are nice. They offer cake from cakes of paradise which is a nice treat as well. They also opened a new location in Renton with limited items available. -

Service is prompt and instantly welcoming. The Hawaiian theme is genuine and unapologetic and makes you smile.
The kalua pork is stellar and there are many, many more appetizing options. I highly recommend! -

We love coming here every time I go i get greeted w a big welcoming smile!
Our kids love the Spam Musubi and the Popcorn chicken.
Also, you can tell they care about their food/customers cause their bathrooms are amazingly nice!!! -

Saimin Says is a popular Polynesian style cafe near amazon warehouse in Kent WA. If you're hungry for spam and eggs, look no further than Saimin Says!
The staff is pleasant and the food is freshly prepared.
One of these days I'm going to actually work up the gumption to order spam. -

I come here occasionally to satisfy my cravings since it's on the way home & I don't want to drive to L&L in Federal Way for their Kalua pork, loco moco or pick up Musibis for my kids.
Service is just not welcoming. Try asking them questions on their meals or how they cook it but it always seems they are having a hard time hearing me. I'm a very friendly person and always have a smile or joke around about a few things but this guy was a tough one. Lol He was pretty serious so figured leave him alone and just pay the guy.
We usually seat ourselves when we go here and grab a menu and when we're ready to order, we go up and order. They'll bring our food, and that's about it. Waited to see if we were going to get water but we had to grab our own water and take our dishes back to the rack which I felt extremely spoiled when I left my plate there the 1st time. Smh Started seeing this wasn't those type of restaurant so I quickly picked up and did the same second time around.
I've tried their Shrimp tempura Saimin, Shoyu Chicken. Katsu Chicken, Moco Loco, Spam Musibis & Katsu Spam Musibi, Kalua pork & Cabbage, strawberry quava and chantilly cake... Given this place more than the benefit of doubt esp since I love island food! For what we pay, the portions were not as much as I expected. So when I do come here, the Pork Kalua & cabbage is somewhat the only thing here I order now. It's really a hit or miss! The flavor of the Kalua is not as flavorable and somewhat really dry, and I can't really get that island flavor in the meal. Mac salad & rice goes very well with the salty ness of the pork which isn't all that bad. Mac salad is always overwhelmingly cold. Just think maybe a little bit more rice or Mac salad wouldn't hurt.
The Spam musibi is ok. Prefer to have the whole musibi wrapped in seaweed but that's just me. My kids seem to not mind, but they loooove Spam & rice so lol I'll go down to Pacific Grill, but I don't care to much for their sauce for the extra 5-7 min drive so here I stay.
Overall, it's just a bit pricey for the quality & quantity of the food here. Ok environment but service could leave you feeling awkward and could be more accommodating or welcoming.
